During the 2012 International Comparative Rural Policy Studies (ICRPS) Summer Institute in Québec a presentation on the pan-Canadian new regionalism research initiative was made by Kelly Vodden. ICRPS brings together an international, multi disciplinary group of faculty, students and professionals to study together the many facets of rural policy, from policy formulation to policy impacts. Each year the ICRPS consortium hosts a two-week summer institute, rotating between North America and Europe. The 2012 Summer Institute was co-hosted by Concordia University and Universtié du Québec à Rimouski.
