Fisheries Innovation Report Raises Questions about Provincial Funding
Posted on 27 Feb in News
Authors of the report Exploring Innovation in the Inshore Fishery in Newfoundland and Labrador have raised questions about whether the Fisheries Technology and New Opportunities Program (FTNOP) has provided equal benefit to the majority of boats in the inshore fishery sector. Of the 261 projects approved for funding from this provincial fund, the majority of projects have been by projects led by institutions such as the Canadian Centre for Fisheries Innovation, Fish Food and Allied Workers, and other companies such as Ocean Choice International. This issue and report was recently covered by CBC News.
