Emily graduated from the Masters of the Arts, Island Studies program from the University of Prince Edward Island in May 2014. She came to this program with a degree in geography and minor in planning (BA, Mount Allison University) and an interest in fisheries from a childhood on an island off the coast of Maine. Over the summer of 2012 she is an AmeriCorps member with the Island Institute (Rockland, ME, USA), where she has been placed with the Maine Coast Fishermen’s Association (Brunswick, ME, USA) and focused on marine spatial planning, among other fisheries issues.
