Researchers Featured in New Documentary

Rural Resilience researchers have been conducting research on employment-related extended travel and the complicated effects related to absences from permanent residences as part of the On the Move project. Deatra Walsh, Director of Advocacy and Communications at Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador, and Leanna Butters, a research assistant on the NL community impacts of On the Move, were recently interviewed for “Set in Motion,” a documentary that follows three women involved in the mobile workforce in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Directed by Lian Morrison, the documentary is part of CBC’s Absolutely Canadian series. Watch it on CBC TV on Oct. 2 at 8:30 p.m.
