On Wednesday, October 6, 2021, a symposium was held at Grenfell Campus, Memorial University to address Newfoundland and Labrador’s fiscal future. Rural Resilience researchers, Drs. Kelly Vodden and Brennan Lowery, among others, discussed the path towards economic sustainability with a specific focus on challenges that rural and small towns face. Dr. Vodden emphasizes the importance of rural communities, many of which provide natural resources, and the need for sustaining municipalities and promoting entrepreneurship.
